Jack:  "When I get married this is going to be a ring for my lovely lady."  (I look at him) "What?  She will be lovely... especially if she has blond hair down to there (pointing to his elbow).  I like that."

He's talked about his "lovely lady" before... He wants to build a house here on the farm when he's big and live there with his wife.  I asked if he'd still come visit.  "Only if my lovely lady lets".

I survived...

the first sleepover in our house!

We celebrated Molly's August birthday at the end of the school year.  She decided she wanted a sleepover.  So we planned that the girls would decorate wooden initials, watch Camp Rock, have pizza and cake and a sleepover.  I even snuck a little photo shoot in.

The party went really well!  The girls had so much fun!

I found the cutest little tins at Michael's.  We filled them with candy and then added ititials as well.  Too cute.

Field Day

Earlier in June the kids had Field Day at school.  Molly's 3rd.  Jack's 1st.  Max and I tagged along.  Derek joined us for lunch.  And, despite the tornado warning they announced at noon, fun was had by all!

And now I've got to go get ready for Molly's birthday party this afternoon.  Her birthday's in August, but we have her "friends" party earlier in summer.  And this time it's a sleepover!  We've got the cake decorations ready, the kitchen's decorated, the house is mostly clean... just have to mow, sweep, mop and do some last minute stuff!

At first I was going to post that I was going to blog everyday till I was caught up.  So much to share... field day, teddy bear picnic for Max, picnics at the creek... Then I thought about it and knew that'd be a lie.  I'm just about done editing the wedding (only a dozen left), but with a birthday party this week, some custom work and a shoot coming up... that slow-down is just not going to happen.  (I'll try though)  Oh... yah.... shouldn't neglect the shoppe either!

So, instead, I'm sharing a wonderful day we had a couple weeks ago (back in the day when I had my 5D).

Jack is obsessed with skateboarding.  He wants to open a skateboarding shop when he's "big".  So, the biggest thrill for this guy is when we take him skateboarding.  The only bad thing about living in the country... no cement.

So, this particular Sunday we hit McDonald's and took our lunch to the park.  After that we drove around looking for some cement (and a cool background for photos didn't hurt)  ;)  I was taped out from the wedding the day before, but Derek convinced me to bring the camera!  And I'm glad I did!

I have TONS of pics on the computer of his "stunts".  Thought it might be overkill to share them all!  hee hee

She didn't fall off a skateboard or anything.  I think she's pouting.

He loves his board!  I can't wait till we head to Minneapolis and take him to those skateboard stores in the mall.

So, there we go!  Fun.  We definately have to do this again!!!

Off to get the kids supper (we really need groceries) and prep for the online class tonight!

She's sick...

... and I feel so bad for her!  She was SOOO looking forward to our "girls day" in the city with Grandma and I.  But this is what her day's been like instead!  A little puke and a lot of sleep.  She tried to convince me she was fine enough to go, but we'll just have to postpone it for another time. 

Looks like it'll be a quiet evening at home instead!

Yes, I'm...

Here you go Heather...

Last week was a crazy week.  First the wedding on the weekend and then these two little guys on Tuesday. 

We left these old doors out, just in case we thought we could use them. 

 

This next one makes no sense unless you were there... and know that the boys thought picking dandelions and throwing them was the best thing ever... especially when they started throwing them at me!  :)  I just love how happy Heather looks in these next ones!

So there you go Heather... just a couple (I'm still editing).

And I had to send my camera in for repairs so it's likely I won't be taking any pictures for a while.  Somehow, when you have a 5D, it's really hard to go back to the Rebel!  It's just not the same and very small and ackward for how I shoot.  But that's okay... I've got lots of photos I haven't shared yet (and maybe I'll share more from this last shoot too).  I'm also looking forward to catching up on my editing (from this shoot and the wedding) and my archiving... oh yah... and scrapbooking!  But I must admit it's very hard!!!  It's like my third arm!  I sent Canon a lovely note... told the postmaster to take extra special care of it... and yes... I cried.

... and I'm still plugging away at the editing part of this wedding (that midday sun is killer!).  It was a really cool experience and I want to thank Vicki for convincing me to do it!  And, if nothing else comes of this, I'm so happy to have met her!!!  She's so awesome... totally fun and down-to-earth!
